Paul & Annie have been touted by the American music press as the best Blues Duo in the world. Paul has performed with Howling Wolf and studied with Son House and Robert 'Junior' Lockwood. A master of country blues guitar, he easily trades his National Steel guitar for a Fender Stratocaster. Annie Raines is simply the finest female blues harmonica player that has ever lived. Together these two are without equal. Most years, Rishell & Raines play a number of gigs in mainland Europe, Scandinavia and Britain. Paul Rishell & Annie Raines live in Cambridge, Massachusetts U.S.A. 'I Want You To Know' was nominated for four W. C. Handy awards (the blues grammies). It's available on Tone-Cool Records (Rounder Records Group) and distributed by Inakustik in Germany. The 1999 release, 'Moving To The Country' won the W.C. Handy Award for Best Acoustic Blues Album of the year. |
